Família Real Portuguesa Foge para o Brasil

Em 29 de Novembro de 1807, a família real portuguesa foge para o Brasil em resultado das invasões francesas.

Até essa altura, o palácio de Queluz era a residência da família real.

Prince Henry the Navigator

More than 32 years before Columbus had reached the Americas, the Portuguese Prince Henry had already organized the European adventure.
After a lifetime dedicated to the organization and management of Portuguese navigations, Henry dies at age 66 in 1460.
At that time, Portuguese ships had already exploited up to Sierra Leone.




The Convent of the Order of Christ  is a religious building and a castle in Tomar, Portugal, originally a Templar fortress (12th century). After the Order of the Knights Templar was dissolved (14th century), the Portuguese branch of the order was turned into the Knights of the Order of Christ.
Prince Henry the Navigator ruled the Order from 1417 up to his death in 1460. Prince Henry ordered the construction of various cloisters and other buildings in the Convent.



Sagres Point is a promontory located in the southwest Algarve, southern Portugal. This place is realted to Prince Henry the Navigator.

Real Barraca

Após o terramoto de 1 de Novembro de 1755, o rei D. José mandou construir no Alto da Ajuda um palácio de madeira e pano que foi chamado Real Barraca. Só na regência de D. João (Futuro D. João VI) se irá iniciar a construção do palácio da Ajuda.
